Required to complete the application process for the NY State Pistol License/Permit under the "Concealed Carry Improvement Act". This is a NY State mandated course. If you are a new applicant, you must complete this course prior to submitting your application. 

No one should be without the education that it takes to own a handgun safely. This LIVE FIRE USCCA Basic Handgun course is designed for those who want to start learning how to shoot and develop the right mindset for the responsible gun owner. There is no need for any prior experience to participate, although more experienced shooters have taken the class and ended up learning some very valuable skills. 

 The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. This is a LIVE FIRE course covers:  gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor.
